Why Won’t You Get On Our Train

I have relished this week and the fact that ND is #1 for the first time ever in the BCS. *Pathetic heart felt sigh*
I feel better. Everybody still says we shouldn’t be at #1. PFFFFTT!!!!!! We don’t want you on our train anyway, so you can take your negativity and smoke blowing and go somewhere they want you, like USC or Ohio State. Those coaches love smoke blown up their…skirts.

I just don’t get why all the hate for ND. They have an amazing history and a huge fan base. I mean, everybody HAS seen Rudy right? I cry everytime. “You’re 5 foot nothin’, 100 and nothin’, and you have barely a speck of athletic ability. And you hung in there with the best college football players in the land for 2 years. And you’re gonna walk outta here with a degree from the University of Notre Dame. In this life, you don’t have to prove nothin’ to nobody but yourself. And after what you’ve gone through, if you haven’t done that by now, it ain’t gonna never happen. Now go on back.” *Another heart felt sigh*

How about this little tidbit? ESPN reported on August 28 that Notre Dame, get this, FACES THE TOUGHEST SCHEDULE IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL!! Yes I was yelling, hence the caps lock. Do you know that only one other team (besides Notre Dame) from that list is ranked in the top 10? The other team is Florida (gag). So we aren’t good enough to be number 1, yet we play the toughest schedule in the country AND we are undefeated in that tough schedule. The same people that wrote this article also said it would be tough for the Irish to have a record of 8-4, ha! How does that crow taste?!? The same people saying this I bet are the same people in charge of the idiot polls. The idiots. Probably the same people that will keep Manti Te’o from winning the Heisman, all because he’s a defensive player and they don’t see he has as much value as some QB or RB. Again, I say PFFFFTTT!!!

Ok, so let’s discuss the USC game. Barkley is out (I’m sure that’s legit) and Max Wittek will start. Wittek is a red shirt freshman and this will be his first start. Ever. A red shirt freshman is a player that is academically a Sophomore, but athletically a freshman. A red shirt will give a player 5 years to use their 4 years of athletic eligibility. Being a red shirt is a good because it gives you an extra year to practice, learn the offense, bulk up (if you need to), and work on any areas like speed. That is why many players have to make the decision to come back. They don’t have to because they have their degree, but they have a year of athletic eligibility left. Manti Te’o was in that boat last year, aren’t we glad he came back! Tyler Eiffert has a year of athletic eligibility left, but everybody is pretty certain he will declare for the draft. So not only has this kid never started a game for USC, but he will be starting in a game that is a huge rivalry and playing a team that has a lot to lose and wants the ‘Ship very badly. It’s going to be tough for him.

We should win. Should meaning we don’t pull a Kansas State and single handedly flush our season down the toilet. Nobody wants two SEC teams in the ‘Ship gain. It’s BS that it ever happened. Bring on the playoffs!

So my lovely readers, enjoy the game and I’ll see you on the other side with hopefully a crap ton to celebrate. Like a trip to the ‘Ship.
