Uga shirts up for the game

This Saturday’s game is the SEC Championship match-up between the Alabama Crimson Tide and the University of Georgia Bulldogs.

This game is so huge, it may as well be the actual championship game.  The two best teams in the nation will be playing in it.  I know, that is not what the polls say, that is just my honest opinion after having watched many hours of college football this season.  There will be hard hits, I do expect some injuries.  I think Georgia will try to take advantage of the holes in the Alabama defense.  While Alabama’s defense is ordinarily one of the stronger ones in the nation, I have seen some big missteps from them in the last few games.  We would all be stupid to think that Georgia Head Coach Mark Richt hasn’t seen them as well and has planned to take advantage of the situation.  As a side note ladies, Mike is not so bad on the eyes.  Combine him with Alabama Head Coach Nick Saban, Alabama Quarterback AJ McCarron and Running Back Eddie Lacey, and all the ladies should have something to be smiling about on Saturday.  No matter who wins, us ladies win every time when these two teams match up!  Can I get an Amen Sister!?!  J

While we are talking about cuteness, let me go ahead and tell you to be on the look out for Uga, the bulldog.  He’s SUCH a cutie pie, and you should see the lengths this school goes to keep this dog happy.  They even ice him down for the early season games where it’s very hot in the South.  Sometimes, he even just goes in his house for a nap and just ignores the game altogether while I am thinking, WHO COULD SLEEP THROUGH THAT?  Well Uga can.  And it always reminds me of that elementary school cheer “U-G-L-Y, you ain’t got no alibi, you Ugly, hey, hey, you UGLY”.  I know, childish memories, and some people probably think he comes from a long line of ugly, but I am just a dog person, and I can’t help but love this mascot.

Okay, sorry, back to the game!

Do not expect this win to be a landslide like the games we have seen this season, I would say this is about the best, most well match up of teams I have seen all season.  If I were a betting woman, I would bet on a tight score.  I think it will happen by a possible field goal or even just by a touchdown.  Either way you go, some folks are picking Georgia to win and some are picking Alabama.  Like I said, these two teams are such a good match up, it is going to be a hard call.  Alabama is good on the road it seems, and this will be played out in the Georgia Dome.  Both defenses are the bomb, Alabama is ranked at the top and Georgia is not far behind them.  Also, both quarterbacks are the nation’s number 1 and 2 rated passers!!  So expect to see a lot of McCarron and Murray battling it out on the scoreboard.  I think as long as the Bama Defense takes a hand to Murray early in the game and knocks out his concentration, we will have them.  He’s good, but he’s also nervous, when things start going downhill for him, the points stop racking up.  When this happens, our offense will need to be ready to take the field and start putting points on the board as efficiently as possible without trying to wait until the last minute to do so.

Whoever wins this game will go on to play Notre Dame for the BCS Championship.  The last BIG (non regular season game) match up of these two teams was the 1973 Sugar Bowl, in which Notre Dame kicked a winning field goal in the last minute to win the game over Alabama 24-23.  See the tight score?  Should we expect that again this time, even though that was so long ago?  I know the Tide is a much stronger team than the Irish, but I know that Notre Dame is going to be going all out and will be rested and ready to take on the Tide.  I REALLY want to see the Tide wipe out the luck of the Irish.

ROLLLLLLLLLLLLL TIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
