What We Learned From NFL Week 1

Starting 7 new players on the Ravens’ defense isn’t all it’s cracked up to be after the Ravens allowed a franchise high 49 points and allowed Manning to tie a 44 year old NFL record of 7 TD passes. They didn’t look like the reigning Super Bowl champions Thursday night, but hey things can always get better right?

Throwing 3 interceptions and getting sacked 6 times will cause you to lose a game. Who knew?

Christian Ponder is still struggling. He threw 3 interceptions and fumbled once. Theire backup has to be better than that! We want Cassel!

Suh is still a no good, cheap football player. He dove at the knees (called a low block) of Vikings center John Sullivan. The NFL fined him $100,000 for this cheap, uncalled for play.

Tom Brady isn’t perfect. Gasp! He fumbled the ball on the goal line and lost it.

I still hate the Saints (still just a fact).

The Buccaneers are worse then we thought after they lost to the Jets.

The Jaguars are as bad as we thought after they only scored 2 points in their game against the Chiefs.

I don’t like Jay Cutler (still just a fact).

The Panthers have a better defense then we all thought after they held Marshawn Lynch to just 43 rushing yards. Pass defense needs work though after allowing Wilson 320 passing yards.

Turning the ball over 6 times in a game will allow your most hated division rival to beat you.

Sam Bradford can throw TD passes.

Either the Chargers are that bad or the Texans are that good at comebacks. The Chargers allowed 17 points in the 4th quarter blowing the 14-point lead they had at the end of the 3rd.

Chip Kelly can win in the NFL. Maybe he’s more than just a college coach, we’ll wait and see before we make that call though.

The Raiders…still struggling.

The Titans might actually be good this year. Either that or the Steelers just really suck making them look fantastic.

So there you have my mostly sarcastic assessment of week 1. I love the NFL! I’m so excited for the Thursday night game as my beloved Pats play the Jets. I’m hoping the Pats play better then they did against the Bills. I also hope the Jets provide the world with something similar to the ButtFumble. Man that was entertaining.
