MSU’s 1st possession ends with a 40 yd missed fg attempt, with 5:44 left in 1st. 1 minute later, Auburn WR #4, Quan Bray, catches a pass for a touchdown. The Tigers then scores 2. With 4:02 in 1st, State answers. QB Prescott threw a long pass to #14, LB Zach Jackson to score. Current score is 11-6 Auburn.

Both State and Auburn suffer from dropped passes and fumbles in the 11th minute of the 2nd quarter. (Each team recovers their own ball.) State defense did a nice job, holding Auburn back, to punt from their own 25 yd line, 9:38 to go. Illegal formation by AU gives MSU extra 5 yds. LaDarius Perkins, with hurt ankle, is catching Prescott’s beautiful passes and running well, making 1st downs. With 5:02 left in the 2nd, Prescott runs the ball in for a touchdown. Score is now 14-13, Auburn. On the next possession, State’s defense once again holds them back, AU punting from own 25yd line, 3:35 left in 2nd. On the last play of the 1st half, Auburn throws a Hail Mary pass for a State interception. Time runs out, and off to the locker room they go.
In the 3rd quarter, State’s first major play came when Prescott ran the ball for 47 yds, getting down to Auburn’s 11yd line, going for 1st &goal. A couple plays later, with the ball on the 1yd line, Prescott runs it in for a touchdown, bringing the Bulldogs on top, 20-14. With 10 minutes to go in the 3rd, Auburn’s kicker, Codey Parkey ties a career-long 47 yd field goal, bringing the score to 20-17. Momentum in the stands and on the sideline starts to build when each team gets a nice looking sack.
About 12 minutes left in the 4th, Auburn’s crowd is getting into the game, and the team has good defense on us. We punt from behind our own 20. Auburn gets good field position, starting about the 42yd line. Auburn’s QB Marshall throws, MSU LB #22, Matthew Wells tipped the ball, we intercept and get the ball right back. The Dawgs aren’t getting much yardage. On our next possession, with 5:30 to go, the Bulldogs are on the 19 yd line, at 3rd and 9. They do not snap, there is no play. STADIUM IS SO LOUD.
With no State time outs left, on 4th down and 1, we decide we are going for it. Prescott runs and gets up to Auburn’s 32 yd line. State ends up punting it away. With less than a minute to go, Auburn keeps moving forward, amidst dropped passes. 15 seconds to go. Auburn takes timeout… The score is still 20-17, State.
With 10 seconds left, Auburn scores, and break their SEC losing streak. DAMN!!
Uh oh, a review.. Auburn catcher went out of bounds, came back in and caught the game winning td. Td stands, he was pushed out. Well, that’s that. We broke their losing streak.
