MSU Bulldogs use Troy as a Chew Toy

The Mississippi State Bulldogs are now 2-0 at home, 2-2 overall, after plowing over Troy Saturday evening. Final score was 62-7. The home attendance was 55,096–another sell out for Davis Wade Stadium. Troy scored 7 in the 1st quarter, the only points they’d see all game. State had stacked up 45 points at the half, 7 in the 3rd, and 10 more in the fourth.

SEC history was made in Starkville. Two players, QB Dak Prescott and WR Jameon Lewis, both scored touchdowns by throwing, rushing, and receiving- quite unusual for a quarterback to receive a pass for a touchdown, but hey- it happened! Awesome job, guys! Dak’s fans have gotten pretty creative on Twitter, coming up with all sorts of #hashtags. Check these out! #DakAttack, #Dakatastrophic, #Dakathlon, #Daktion, #Daktatorship, #captainDAKsparrow. I’d say we like some Dak, don’t we?? Tyler Russell, who’s been out the last two games for a concussion, is named as the starting quarterback for LSU on October 5th. Let’s see what we can come up with for him. I love the creativity!

Accolades/Awards of the week:
Jameon Lewis,’ Hornung Honor Roll’, for versatility on the field.
Dak Prescott and Jamerson Love, ‘College Football Performance Award’ honorable mentions.
Gabe Jackson, SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week.

The Dawgs have a bye this week, then invite the LSU Tigers to Starkville for a night game on October 5th, at 6pm, broadcast on ESPN.
