There wasn’t much of a game to talk about after Saturday, because for the Gamecocks, that was more like practice for them at home. South Carolina took on the Mississippi State Bulldogs, and won 34-16. No. 16 South Carolina tied school history with 15 consecutive home victories, also being second in the country to Michigan’s 19 in a row.
Conner Shaw threw for four touchdowns, to match his personal best for TD throws. Mike Davis ran 128 yards to move past 1,000 yards this season. Davis is the team’s first 1,000 yard rusher since Marcus Lattimore gained 1,197 yards his freshman year, three years ago. Davis is now the SEC’s leading rusher. The Bulldogs’ Sophomore Dak Prescott, threw three interceptions and a fumble that led to 20 points by the Gamecocks.
The Gamecocks will now have a weekend off before they take on Florida, Coastal Carolina, and Clemson. It’s been one heck of a season but if the Gamecocks can keep it up with the Wins and have a little help by Missouri and Georgia, we may be seeing the Gamecocks in the Georgia Dome next month!
