The day has finally come, Dawg fans. Arron Murray will play his last game between the hedges against Kentucky in the last SEC match-up of the season. Saturday will be a time to honor the seniors and all their achievements over their collegiate careers. Georgia will celebrate 28 seniors with the most decorated being quarterback Arron Murray.
Murray will make his 52nd start of his career. To date, Murray owns SEC career records for TD passes (117), total offense (13,348), passing yards (12,983), and completions (903).
Even though the Bulldogs are out of the SEC East division title race they still qualified for a bowl game. No need to sit and be idle. Coach Richt has stressed for his players to just move on. Easier said than done, but it’s all that can be done with the few weeks remaining in the season.
The Dawgs (6-4, 4-3 SEC) will face off against the Kentucky Wildcats who are 2-8, and 0-6 in the SEC. I don’t think I’m being overconfident but I think Georgia will easily pull off a win for their seniors.
Even though the Dawgs will not be in black uniforms, they are highly encouraging all fans to black-out for Saturday night between the hedges. If you’re going to be in Athens this weekend, the seniors will be presented during the pre-game ceremony and the Dawg Walk will begin at 5:05 p.m. before the 7 p.m. kick-off.
I have high hopes for the Dawgs to finish out the season with their heads held high. It has been a trying season, but all you can do is learn from it, adjust for next week, and leave everything on the field. Sometimes you get lucky, and other times you watch the other team get the break.
So to all my Georgia faithful, Hunker Down and Go DAWGS!
