What We Learned From the NFL Conference Championship Games

Since I’m not voicing my football thoughts in social media (see previous article), you guys are going to get them all on gridirongirl! Aren’t you excited? I can tell you are. It has been a crazy few days in football land. So let’s get on with it!

1. A 20 second post game interview is all it takes to make the whole world go crazy.

2. The 49ers and Seahawks hate each other so much they need to be separated when they’re warming up before the game. Here’s a tip: you guys are adults and professionals – act like it.

3. The Broncos looked really good in the AFC Championship.

4. The Patriots did not.

5. If your defense doesn’t get any pressure on Manning and you give him 5 hours to throw the ball, you will lose the game. Imagine that.

6. If the Seahawks play Denver like they played the 49ers in the NFC Championship game – they will lose. It’s a fact and I don’t care how much you hate to hear it.

7. If something is not ok then it’s never ok. You can’t condemn one player for it and then say its ok for another player to do it. It’s called hypocrisy and it’s annoying.

8. It is not ok, no matter what the player has done or said, to use racial slurs. Be better people.

9. If you accost me while I’m running errands and tell me the Patriots suck, I will have the overwhelming desire to shank you. People are lucky I left that shank at home ‘cause crap was going down!

10. Denver fans need to slow their rolls about beating the Pats. It’s not nice to yell at people. Being a good winner is just as important as being a gracious loser.

11. Seahawks fans need to slow their rolls and get the chips off their shoulders. It’s not pretty guys.

12. Patriots fan need to 1.  stop blaming Welker for the loss. Talib getting hurt didn’t lose the game, sure it didn’t help, but it wasn’t the sole cause so don’t  act like it was. 2. Quit damning Manning to the pits of football obscurity. He’s an amazing QB. One of the best to ever play the game. He deserves to be where he is. 3. Realize that Welker didn’t intentionally hurt Talib. He’s not that sort of guy. Losing is hard, but it’s only made harder when you start casting absurd aspersions on others. Those are called excuses. Don’t make excuses. The Pats lost to what I believe is the best team in the NFL, there is no shame in that. Be gracious in defeat.

13. Finally, to NaVorro Bowman, I want to say how sorry I am that you were injured and I hope you have a speedy and healthy recovery. You are very good at what you do and I can’t wait to see you back out there doing your thing.
