Ladies and gentlemen, you have no excuse to not watch Roadrunners football this Fall! This is so exciting for the team and fans alike; UTSA will get unprecedented national exposure in front of millions of Americans.
An announcement was made earlier in the Spring that ESPNU will televise the match up between UTSA and The University of Houston on August 29th. This will be the season opener for both teams and will be the first game played in Houston’s new stadium.
In addition to the ESPNU broadcast, UTSA’s home opener against Arizona, Thursday, September 4th, will be nationally televised on FOX Sports 1 at 7pm. The following week’s road contest at Oklahoma State, scheduled for Saturday, September 13th, can be seen on FOX Sports Network, kick off set at 6pm and the Saturday, October 11th game against FIU will also be televised on FOX College Sports at 6pm.
Four other UTSA games– at Louisiana Tech (oct. 18), at Rice (Nov. 8), at Western Kentucky (Nov. 22), and home against North Texas (Nov. 29), will also be televised by FOX Sports, with networks and game times to be announced at a later date.
–Conference USA and FOX Sports Media Group enter their 4th year of a multi-platform media rights agreement where FOX Sports 1 will broadcast a minimum of 10 regular-season C-USA contests, and additional games will be carried nationally on FOX Sports Networks, which reach more than 85 million homes.
The Roadrunners’ Thursday, October 13th contest against Southern Mississippi will be shown nationally on CBS Sports Network, kickoff set at 7pm. This will be the first matchup between these 2 schools.
–CBS Sports Network and C-USA sports enter their 10th year of partnership that includes significant national and regional exposure to over 99 million homes.
Additional television exposure remains a possibility and kickoff times will be released as soon as they are finalized, but there you have it; UTSA is slated to appear over the airwaves a total of eight times this fall. Make plans now, do your TV research, people. If you don’t get one of these channels at your home, get to your nearest restaurant where you can watch the game, warm up your ‘rowdy’ hand signs, and get that spirit flowing!
