After three weeks of non-conference play, Mississippi State will get some SEC action this weekend! Yesss! The Bulldogs are going down to the cajun city of Baton Rouge to play LSU Saturday.
This week has been full of LSU jokes, particularly corn dog jokes. I’m serious! Corn dogs! For about 5 years now, every SEC team, except LSU, has been making fun of them for smelling like corn dogs! Why?? It must be the combination of beer, alligator-on-a-stick, humidity, and sweat that does it. I can’t really say for sure. Nor can I say that this is actually true. But nevertheless, it is funny and has caught on throughout the South, so I’m sure this joke is here to stay, y’all. I don’t think I will personally be putting my sniffer up to any fan to check this rumor out, but if you do, let me know how it goes!
Current predictions have LSU winning by about 10. LSU’s stadium, “Death Valley”, can certainly be a hostile environment, and has taken down many teams. But, it can also be highly unpredictable. On paper, State has a stronger team. Both teams are undefeated so far, so you can bet they will play with all their might to keep a zero in the loss column. The Bulldogs have a really strong team right now, with Prescott, and shining stars like Jameon Lewis, Bernardrick McKinney, de’Runnya Wilson, and Preston Smith. It’ll be won or lost by turnovers and field goals, maybe even a little preferential treatment from the Refs.
This game will surely be a nail biter. Set your DVRs, get your popcorn, and don’t forget to cook up a few corn dogs, Bulldog friends! Watch on ESPN at 6pm central.
