LSU did it. Just barely, sure, but the tigers pulled off a win that might be exactly the spoon full of sugar that helps the stumbling start to the season go down smoothly. Pulling off a 30-27 win over the Florida Gators in the swamp is a big step in the right direction for the Bayou Bengals. Yes the field goal that won the game happened with only moments left in the 4th quarter, but a win is a win and the tigers know all too well that a small win can lead to a great season, so hopefully this three point lead pushes their “go” buttons and gets the tigers back to their golden days.
Coach Miles and the team celebrated loudly in the swamp, putting their arms around one another and swaying while singing the LSU alma mater as loudly as they could. That salty taste in their mouths is what sweet victory tastes like and it pairs well with the fried gator the swamp has served up just in time for a late night snack. Hey a tiger’s gotta eat, right?
The win over Florida is hardly the best part of this college football Saturday. Coach Miles got his 100th win, Defensive Back, Jamal Adams, earned himself a figurative Oscar for the best flop of…dare I say it?…all time. Then, Leonard Fournette got to roll right over a Florida defender to tie the game up 7-7 and of course my favorite college kicker of all time, Colby Delahoussaye, got to score that game winning field goal. The tiger’s feast on the gators was slow but definitely satisfying in more ways than one and tonight was certainly a victory for the nation of purple and gold.
In the mean time a special thanks to SEC Nation member, Marcus Spears, for his prediction of an LSU victory overFlorida. Also a big thanks to guest College Game Day host, Desmond Howard, and Guest Picker, Jonathan Papelbon. The tigers just need a little faith to get them through these straining days of fall and they will take it wherever they can get it.
Keep loving purple and living gold folks. This season might not be as bad as it was beginning to look. There is hope yet. Geaux tigers!
