Buffalo’s Big Mouth

Patriots’ fans have had to endure Rex Ryan and his merry band of idiots since the Patriots’ division rival, the New York Jets, hired him in 2009. Patriots’ fans rejoiced when we knew the Jets were going to fire him last year. Finally we wouldn’t have to see his face or listen to him (as much). Then the Bills have to go and hire him! So he stays in the division and we’re stuck with him! Side rant: After seeing what he didn’t do in New York, why in the world would you choose him for your next head coach?!! Was there nobody else available?!! Big Bird or Kermit or Patrick Starfish weren’t available? Because even they would have been better coaching candidates. Ok, done with side rant. Anyway, Rex would open his big mouth spew untruths and generally cause a giant circus. At the time, I assumed it was a Jets thing.

Well it wasn’t. It turns out it’s a Rex Ryan thing.

The Patriots play the Buffalo Bills this coming Sunday in Buffalo and it has already started. Rex Ryan tried to pretend he didn’t know the name of the Patriots’ running back. If you don’t know who the running back is for the reigning Super Bowl Champions, who you play in 5 days, than you have problems. Like huge, giant, Alaska size problems.

Rex isn’t the only one saying stuff either.

Defensive tackle Marcell Dareus said this: “Don’t nobody likes the Patriots, let’s just be honest about it now. Put it out there.” Bad grammar aside, I like the Patriots. I love them in fact, and I know other people who love them too.

So let’s recap. We’ve got a team who currently has the longest post-season drought in the NFL (haven’t been to the playoffs since the 1999 AFC Wild Card playoffs) and they’re talking crap about the reigning Super Bowl Champions who have the winningest QB/head coach combo in the NFL? Sounds like a good strategy to me.

Maybe Rex Ryan and the Bills should spend more time looking at film, learning the Pats’ running back’s name, and coming up with a strategy to defend against the most prolific and talented QB in NFL history. Yes I said it!!
