Oregon Head Coach Mark Helfrich Issues Statement on Departure of OC Scott Frost

The University of Central Florida officially announced today that it has hired Oregon Offensive Coordinator, Scott Frost has its new Head Coach.

Frost, a former successful quarterback for Nebraska who also played in the NFL has moved through the coaching ranks, ultimately ended up in Oregon for the past few years. His success has been especially recognized over the past couple of years and most anticipated a move up for Frost was a matter of when, not if.

This evening, Coach Helfrich issued a statement regarding Frost’s departure.

“We wish Scott all the best with his new opportunity at UCF,” said Oregon head coach Mark Helfrich. “Oregon’s proven track record of success and unique situation have led to many high quality candidates expressing their interest (in the Oregon vacancy).”

“We will continue to recruit, prepare for our upcoming bowl game, and support our student-athletes through finals as we move forward.”

As Oregon Football look to the future, many changes are sure to come. So far, Helfrich has done a good job working through adversity and facing challenges head on. The Oregon faithful can only hope that success continues as it faces one heck of an off-season.
