3 Reasons Why Patriots Fans Aren’t Worried About Brady’s Suspension

Pro Talk

Before I get into the list, I want to clear something up first. The fact that Patriots fans aren’t worried doesn’t mean we aren’t still ridiculously angry about Brady’s suspension. It just means we aren’t worried about those 4 games in regards to winning or losing and I’ll tell you why.

  1. Jimmy Garoppolo didn’t look that bad in the Pats’ first preseason game last Thursday against the Saints. I know what you’re saying too “it was just preseason”. Well stuff it, a game is a game. Jimmy was 11 for 18 with 168 yards, and no INTs. That was with an offensive line that performed subpar AND he didn’t have 4 of his most explosive offensive weapons in Edelman, Gronk, Amendola, and Lewis.
  1. The defense has looked some of the best I’ve seen it in a while. They forced 4 turnovers and worked together as a unit. A defense that looks like this will take the pressure off Jimmy so he doesn’t have to be perfect. Just to be clear we Patriots fans don’t expect that either.

The last reason why Patriots fans aren’t worried about those 4 games, two words…

  1. Bill Belichick.

Bill is not only the best coach in the NFL right now, but he is perhaps the greatest coach in NFL history. Belichick is surrounded by Josh McDaniels who is a masterful offensive coordinator and Matt Patricia who knows the Patriots defense inside and out. These aren’t amateurs with a few years coaching experience under their belt. This is a coaching trio that have the coaching talent and the player talent to make a run for the Super Bowl every single year (and they do). They know how to run an organized and disciplined team that chases perfection every week.

Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence.

Vince Lombardi

So while the rest of the league celebrates Brady’s absence, Patriots Nation will bide their time until October 9th. We will face the criticism and joy over our losses with the confidence of fans who know and trust their team. When Brady comes back, you’re all going to want to sit back and watch, it’s going to be a heck of a show.
